Dyersville, Iowa

Services for Clarence V. Benke, 74, of Dyersville will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, Dyersville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, where the Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 7 p.m. and parish scripture service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Benke died Sunday at St. Mary's Unit of Mercy Health Center, Dyersville. He was co-owner of B. & W Appliance in Dyersville from 1948 until his retirement in 1978, and a member of the Dyersville Council Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, the former Leonilla "Nellie" Roling, three sons Richard of Monticello, Iowa, and Ronald and David, both of Cascade, Iowa, a daughter, Mrs. James (Deanne) Manza of Winter Haven, Fla., 18 grandchildren, a brother John of Dyersville and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Wessels and Mrs. Lorine Wilhelm, both of Dyersville, and Mrs. Leona Kennedy of Epworth, Iowa.
