Mrs. Hal (Ella Rose) Judge, 90, of Luther Manor Nursing Home, formerly of 495 English Lane, died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Luther Manor, surrounded by her family.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
She was born on June 25, 1913, in Indianapolis, daughter of David E. and Rose L. (Rice) Lemons.
She married Harold E. "Hal" Judge on Jan. 29, 1932, in Greenfield, Ind.; he passed away on Dec. 5, 1990. They owned and operated Hal Judge Interiors for 55 years. She retired from the business in 1985.
She cherished the years with her husband and looked forward to their winter trips to Florida.
Rose was a wonderful cook whose recipes have been handed down to her children and grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are three sons, Randy (Pat) Judge and Steve Judge, both of Dubuque, and Greg (Holly) Judge, of Atlanta; a daughter, Linda Judge, of Dubuque; a sister, Margaret Reese, of Beech Grove, Ind.; four grandchildren, Brad (Lisa) Judge, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Doug (Ann) Judge, of West Chester, Pa., Ryan (Wendy) Judge, of Smyrna, Ga., and Cortney (friend, Nate Kieffer) Judge, of Dubuque; three great-granddaughters, Madeline, Louisa and Taylor Judge; two nieces, Marcia Reese and Nancy Burdine; and a nephew, Jim Hall.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque and Luther Manor Auxiliary.
Thanks to everyone at Luther Manor for their care and concern for Rose these last few years. Thanks also to Hospice of Dubuque for their compassion and support.
