Mrs. Eugene C. (Doris M.) Brewer, 79, of 101 Juniper Lane, Holmen, Wis., formerly of Dubuque, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 4300 Asbury Road, Dubuque, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brewer was employed as an obstetrics-gynecology assistant for Dr. Moeller for many years.

She was born on May 1, 1924, in Dubuque, daughter of Raymond and Grace (Bingham) Ryan. She married Eugene C. Brewer on May 24, 1945, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque; he preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1971.

She was a former member of Resurrection Parish and its Rosary Society, Dubuque.

After leaving Dubuque, she resided in Bagley, Wis., for almost 20 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Suzanne (David) Murphy, of Forest City, Iowa, Jean (Steve) Burr, of Mukwonago, Wis., and Rita (David) Champion, of Onalaska, Wis.; three sons, Gary (Bev) Brewer, of Dubuque, Donald (Sari) Brewer, of Ogden, Utah, and Robert (Janeen) Brewer, of Monroe, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Kiley, of Clinton, Iowa, and Nancy Mohr, of De Witt, Iowa; three brothers, Donald (Mary) Ryan, of Dubuque, Thomas (Karen) Ryan, of Cuba City, Wis., and Daniel (Doris) Ryan, of East Dubuque, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Delores Ryan and Leona Ryan, both of Dubuque; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Brewer, of Fairfax, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Stephanie Burr and Shelly Burr; a grandson, Evan Brewer; a sister, Marlene (Dick) Adams; a brother, Raymond Ryan; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Kiley and Larry Mohr; and a special friend, Martin Hahn.

Memorials may be given to Hearten House, 101 Juniper Lane, Holmen, Wis. 54636 and the Alzheimer's Association, 1690 Elm St., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
