Maryann (Andracchio) Wells, 54, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, formerly of Dubuque, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, following a long illness.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque, where friends may call after 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

She was born on June 1, 1949, in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph and Ann Andracchio. She attended St. Anthony Grade School, Wahlert High School and Clarke College.

She worked in the public relations office at the University of Toronto (Canada), Erindale Campus. In recognition of her 28 years of service there, she recently received the Paul Fox Lifetime Achievement Award.

Surviving are her husband, David, two daughters, Desiree and Elizabeth (Frank) Requejo, and son, David, all of Mississauga; her parents, Joseph and Ann Andracchio, of Dubuque; two brothers, Rochne (Donna), of Winterhaven, Fla., and Charles (fiancee, Dawn Hansen), of Dubuque; a sister, Carol (Robert) Kalb, of Dubuque; her father-in-law, Ernest Wells, of Ontario; a sister-in-law, Mary (Peter) Shambrook, of Ontario; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Betty Wells.

In lieu of flowers, a Maryann (Andracchio) Wells Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials may be sent to 1990 Jeffrey Drive, Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
