Rose Horsfield, 93, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 780 Kane Street, died Sunday morning, Nov. 16, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main Street, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Horsfield worked as a practical nurse at the former Xavier Hospital.

She was born on July 4, 1910, in Bernard, Iowa, daughter of John and Mary (Wilmas) Federspiel. She married Edwin B. Horsfield on Nov. 12, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, McGregor, Iowa; he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1989.

Rose attended school in Garryowen and La Motte, Iowa.

She enjoyed taking bus trips, cooking, canning and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are a brother, George Federspiel, of Bernard, Iowa; a sister, Mary Driscoll, of Dubuque; and nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Ernie; two sisters, Louise Nemmers and Viola Federspiel; and two sisters-in-law, Vera Federspiel and Virginia Federspiel.

A Rose Horsfield Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Stonehill Care Center.
