Betty Jane O'Neill, 82, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Omaha, Neb., and Dubuque, died a holy death Wednesday, Nov., 12, 2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church, 10815 N. 84th St., Scottsdale. Friends may call from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, where there will be a rosary at 7 p.m.
She was born on March 2, 1921, in Dubuque, daughter of James R. and Margaret Kean. She graduated from the former St. Joseph's Academy.
She married Thomas J. O'Neill on Dec. 23, 1942, during World War II. They first resided in Dubuque, and then lived in Omaha for 17 years. They have been in Scottsdale since 1969.
She will be missed by her husband of 60 years, Thomas J. O'Neill, of Scottsdale; two sons, Thomas M. O'Neill, of Phoenix, Ariz., and James (Alexandra) O'Neill, of Encinitas, Calif.; two daughters, Pat (Gary) Sauerman, of Scottsdale, and Mary Schindler, of Omaha; and grandchildren, Nico, Bill, Brian, Katie, Kimberly, Michael, CJ and Greg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, 9802 N. 85th St., Scottsdale, Ariz. 85258.
