Mr. Michael Schewaga, 81, of 2123 Graham Circle, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call after 3 p.m. today. Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date.

Mr. Schewaga worked as a laborer at Klauer Mfg. Co. for 35 years, until his retirement.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1922, in the Ukraine.

He married Maria M. Zentner in Germany after World War II. In 1944, they moved from Germany to the United States and have lived in Dubuque ever since.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Maria M. Schewaga, of Dubuque; a daughter, Rosa Datisman, of Dubuque; and two grandchildren, Heather and Chelsee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three very close friends, Irene Plein, Judy Meis and Melvin Weydert.

A Michael Schewaga Memorial Fund has been established by the family.
