Patricia Ann (Cody) Dodds, 73, of 2680 Renaissance Drive, passed away from this life into the arms of our loving Savior on Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Luther Manor, surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 3 p.m.

She was born on May 1, 1930, in Lancaster, Wis., daughter of Elmer and Loretta Cody.

She attended grade school in Wisconsin, excelling as a student there. She graduated from the former Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque and was a graduate of the former Mercy Hospital School of Radiology. After graduation, Pat worked at Mercy Medical Center as a radiology technician.

Patricia Ann was united in marriage to Gerald L. Dodds on Feb. 14, 1949, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Shullsburg, Wis. They were married for 55 years. Together they raised seven children.

In 1972, she earned her private pilots license and fulfilled her goal of soloing a plane.

She was a member of the Life in the Spirit Community at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. While her children attended school there, Pat was an active volunteer. She also was a member of the Dubuque Golf and Country Club.

Pat lived a life of service to God, her husband, children and grandchildren. She was always willing to help her family in any way. We will remember Pat as a woman who lived life and lived it selflessly.

As a wife and mother, she excelled in providing her family with laughter, love, tender-loving-care, encouragement, spiritual guidance and unconditional love.

Those left to honor Pat's memory are her husband, Jerry; six children, Tom, of Omaha, Neb., Joan (Dr. Steven) Mueller, Rick (Jill) and Teresa, all of Dubuque, Dennis, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Greg (Linda), of Davenport, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, Ben, Nick, Sam, Luke, Lindsay, Sarah, Bryan, Eric, Alexandra, Brad, Brooke, Ali and David Dodds, Zach, Kaitlyn and Cody Ries, Steve Mueller and Jessica Gray; two great-grandchildren, Abbey Gray and David J. Dodds; two sisters, Carmella (Art) Herber and Kay (Clete) Janakowski; and a sister-in-law, Ollie Cody.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer Association.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Luther Manor, Hospice of Dubuque and friends, Al and Marilyn Hughes for all their loving care and support given to Pat and her family during her illness.
