Lina M. Shaw, 95, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 1850 Ellis Street, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with burial in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1908, in Littleport, Iowa, daughter of Fred "Casey" and Louise (Pust) Liddy. She was raised in Littleport and graduated from Littleport High School in 1927. She married Adrian L. Shaw on Aug. 16, 1927, in Elkader, Iowa; he preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1967.

Lina resided in Dubuque for the past 59 years. She was a foster grandparent for 22 years, 19 of those years in the pediatric department at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. She retired in 1999.

Lina was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Wanda L. Schaller and Sharon M. Hoerstman, both of Dubuque; two sons, Reece N. (Ann) Shaw, of Dubuque, and Terry M. Shaw, of Aurora, Ill.; a son-in-law, Kenneth Rieck, of Orange, Texas; and 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Donald Liddy; a sister, Gertrude Kleih; an infant daughter, Sandra; a daughter, Virginia Rieck; and two sons-in-law, Ted Hoerstman and Clarence Schaller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lina M. Shaw Memorial Fund.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Stonehill Care Center for all their loving care.
