Dorothy M. Klaeska, 96, of Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of 569 W. 16th Street, died at 5:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where a parish scripture wake service will be held at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Klaeska worked at Mount Pleasant Home for many years.

She was born on June 1, 1907, in Dubuque, daughter of Walter and Mary Ann (Troust) Gaylor. She lived in Dubuque her entire life. She married Carl Klaeska, Sr. on April 24, 1926; he preceded her in death in 1976.

Dorothy was a life-long member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She enjoyed music, dance, travel and her family. Dorothy had resided at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center since 1995.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Klaeska, of Dubuque, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her, son Carl, Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. JoAnn (Louis) Linden, Mrs. Shirley (Earl) Cady, and an infant daughter at birth; and her sisters and brothers.

A Dorothy M. Klaeska memorial fund has been established.
