Steven J. Bardon, 41, of 45 Alpine St., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wis.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grandview United Methodist Church, 3342 John Wesley Drive. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St.

Mr. Bardon worked at William C. Brown Co., and then at Uelner Precision Tools and Dies Co., both in Dubuque

He was born on Nov. 24, 1961, in Dubuque, daughter of Russell and Rosalyn (Vodicka) Bardon. He married Tammy Hirsch on Sept. 22, 1989, at Grandview United Methodist Church, Dubuque

Steve graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and attended Northeast Iowa Community College for auto mechanic and machinist.

He loved riding his Harley and was a H.O.G. member. He loved camping, fast pitch softball and spending time with his family, especially his two daughters.

He was a Dale Earnhart fan, Green Bay Packer fan, Cub fan and Hawkeye fan.

He was an organ and tissue donor.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy, of Dubuque; two daughters, Ashley and Jennifer, both at home; his father and mother-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Jenny Hirsch, of Dubuque; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Donna) Hirsch, of Dubuque; a niece, Tricia Hirsch; two nephews, Jamie Hirsch and Cody Gesie; and a special aunt, Carol Strokosch, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A special thank-you to Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, the Prairie du Chien (Wis.) EMS, the Prairie du Chien Police Department and the Crawford County Sheriff Department for the loving care given to Steven. Also, thank-you to our family and friends for their love and support.
