Sister Ann Marie (Mary Dominicus) Chidester, BVM

Sister Ann Marie (Mary Dominicus) Chidester, BVM, 88, of Marian Hall, 1050 Carmel Drive, died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Marian Hall.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marian Hall Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Ann Marie was a high school teacher in Des Moines and Davenport, Iowa; Chicago; Milwaukee; Wichita, Kan.; and Phoenix, Ariz. She taught clothing, chemistry and art at Clarke College from 1944 to 1962.

She was born on Nov. 1, 1914, in Chicago, daughter of Ora Dominic and Mary (Foley) Chidester.

She made her first profession of religious vows on March 19, 1935, and her final profession on Aug. 15, 1940.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Therese O'Connell, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Chidester, of North Lake, Ill; nieces and nephews; and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 71 years.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Retirement Fund.
