Ted C. Bartmann, 58, formerly of Dubuque, passed from this life Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at his ranch in Beggs, Okla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Leonard & Marker Funeral Home Chapel, Bixby, Okla. Burial will be in the Bixby Cemetery.

He was born on April 24, 1945, in Dubuque, son of Lewis S. and Dorothy M. (Konzen) Bartmann. Ted had lived in the Tulsa area for the past 19 years after moving from Iowa.

Most of his years were spent as a successful real estate owner and speculator, as well as an author of two real estate-related books. He was an accomplished horse and cattle rancher, as well as a highly regarded entrepreneur of many different businesses that he operated himself or helped others to begin.

When he was not working, he loved to play cards with his family, watch golf, reality television and action movies, support the Oklahoma University football team and spend time with his eight children and four grandchildren.

Surviving are his mother, Dorothy Bartmann, of Dubuque; five sons, Mike and Bob Bartmann, both of Stillwater, Okla., and Louie, Billy and Steven Bartmann, all of Beggs; three daughters, Jennifer Ward, of Haskell, Stacey Bartmann, of Tulsa, Okla., and Katie Bartmann, of Beggs; four grandchildren, Jared, Alexis, Ryan and Aidan "Buster"; four sisters, Mary Lou Doore, of Toledo, Ohio, Sandy Engelke, of Bixby, Nancy Quinn, of Dubuque, and Peggy Stahle, of Las Vegas; two brothers, Bill, of Tulsa, and Terry, of Dubuque; his special love, Debbie Bartmann; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, DeAnn Boots.
