Kenneth F. Petesch

Kenneth F. Petesch, 82, of 1959 Lincoln Ave., died at 4:05 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion, Dubuque Post 6. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Petesch worked at the former General Dry Battery Factory. He later worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. for 17 years until his retirement.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1921, in Dubuque, son of Xavier and Susan (Bechen) Petesch. He married Hilda C. Behnke on April 15, 1944, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He served with the Army during World War II in the 45th Division in North Africa and Sicily.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the American Legion, Dubuque Post 6.

Ken enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda C. Petesch; a daughter, Joan M. (Donald) Rundle, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, David F. (Shelley) Petesch, of Cherry Valley, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Lisa and Michael Petesch and Logan, Lucas and Emily Rundle.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Petesch and Mrs. Karl (Mildred) Reuter.

Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1700 Rhomberg Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Stonehill Care Center for the loving care that they gave to Ken.
