Lavon N. Armstrong, 75, of Ames, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died of cancer Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City, Iowa, with the Rev. Jim Norem officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home, Ames.

She was born on Jan. 14, 1928, in Ames, daughter of Leonard and Martha C. (Skeie) Nelson.

She married Phil Armstrong on Sept. 15, 1948; he preceded her in death in 1993. She later married Wallace Fuller on Oct. 4, 1996; he preceded her in death.

She lived in Ames from 1928 to 1968; in Dubuque from 1968 to 1995; and moved back to Ames in 1995.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City, and a volunteer at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha "Marty" (Duane) Swanson, of Ames; three sons, Bill Armstrong, of Dubuque, John (Michelle) Armstrong, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Mike (Sharon) Armstrong, of Southlake, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kirstin (Mike) Peterson, Phil Armstrong, Sarah Armstrong, Nick Armstrong, Tom Armstrong, Mark Armstrong and Jenny Armstrong; and a great-grandson, Jakob Peterson.
