Mrs. Ruth M. Stoffregen, 90, of 2003 Carter Road, died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Stoffregen worked as a bookkeeper at Midland Chemical Laboratories and as an office manager at Rafoth Sheet Metal for many years until she retired.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1912, in Dubuque, daughter of Arthur C. and Bessie (Willman) Rafoth. She married Allen E. Stoffregen on July 3, 1950, at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, Dubuque.

She grew up in Dubuque and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1930.

She was a member of the Dubuque Business and Professional Women's Association, 62 Plus Club and The Finley Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Women's Fellowship at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was a lifelong member.

She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, tennis, traveling, reading and meeting with friends and family.

Surviving are her husband, Allen E. Stoffregen, of Dubuque; a daughter, Lynn K. Stoffregen, of Dubuque; a stepson, Alan G. (Arlene) Stoffregen, of Chicago; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Amanda Mable (Rafoth) Magson, June Catherine (Rafoth) Lehnhardt, and Betty Marie Rafoth in infancy at four months; and a brother, Russell Lester Rafoth.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ.
