Robert H. "Bud" McCann, 81, of 1805 Madison St., died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Mr. McCann worked for the city of Dubuque Water Department for 43 years.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1922, in Volga, Iowa, son of Harris and Martha (Steffan) McCann.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers 758.

He loved to work in the yard and watch old movies. He especially enjoyed his great- great-niece, Olivia.

Surviving are a sister, Rita Kershek, of Dubuque; two godsons, Aaron (Sara) Young and John (Anna) McCann, both of Dubuque; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Anna Latenser, Winifred Fransen, Harriet LeJune, Hazel Kowalski and Irene McCann; and two brothers, John McCann, Sr. and Hale McCann.

A Robert H. "Bud" McCann Memorial Fund has been established.
