WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Mrs. Dorothy Hunt, 76, of Dyersville, formerly of rural Hopkinton, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, after a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where the Altar and Rosary Society will recite a rosary at 4 p.m., and the parish scripture service will be at 5 p.m.

She was born on May 21, 1927, in Dyersville, daughter of Henry J. "Heinie" and Aileen (Cavanaugh) Digmann.

She married Clyde "Bud" Hunt on Nov. 24, 1947, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington; he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1992. They farmed in the Worthington area until their retirement.

Dorothy was a 4-H leader for five years and an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Paul's Catholic Church. She and Bud thoroughly enjoyed dancing and playing cards.

Dorothy recently moved to the Ellen Kennedy Assisted Living Center in Dyersville. There, she enjoyed all of the social activities and visiting with friends and family.

Surviving are a son, Steve (Ellen) Hunt, of Dyersville; four daughters, Starla (Robin) Potter, of Overland Park, Kan., June (Richard) Speck, of Mechanicsburg, Ill., Ann (Booker) Scott, of Seattle, and Lori (Todd) Prehoda, of Buffalo, Ill.; three brothers, Bob (Jean) Digmann, of Ames, Dale (Judy) Digmann, of Worthington, and Dave (Chris) Digmann, of Lebanon, Mo.; a sister, Nancy (Jake) Besler, of Farley; and six grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles "Jim," Morris and Kenny; and a sister, Grace (John) Kramer.

Memorials may be given to Tri-State Dialysis.
