Adam Gregory Birkett, infant son of Greg "Pete" and Sherri (Reuter) Birkett, died Friday afternoon, Aug. 22, 2003, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Key West, Iowa, with the Rev. Donald Bakewell and the Rev. Tom Zinkula officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.

Adam was born on July 28, 2003, in Iowa City.

Surviving are his parents; a brother, Benjamin; a twin sister, Samantha; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lois Reuter, of Key West, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Eileen Birkett, of Dickeyville, Wis.; and Robert Purcell, of Dubuque; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joan Purcell.

Thank-you to the University of Iowa Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and to the doctors and staff for all the care and kindness they gave to Adam and his family.
