Mrs. Lorraine L. Parker, 78, of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, 4885 Asbury Road, formerly of 2725 Monastery Road, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, with the Very Rev. Lyle L. Wilgenbusch officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, where there will be a St. Joseph the Worker Parish Christian wake service at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Parker worked as a custodian for General Services Administration for 20 years, retiring in 1977.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1924, in Dubuque, daughter of Albert and Lucille (Casteel) Weber. She married Lyle M. Parker on June 28, 1944, at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, Dubuque; he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1998.

She grew up in Dubuque, and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1943. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, Gary L. (Pamela) Parker, of Mesa, Ariz., and Robert L. (Charlene) Parker, of Topeka, Kan.; two daughters, Lorinda Steinberg, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lauren Specht, of Dubuque; a brother, Albert (Barb) Weber, of Dubuque; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Wayne) Lynch, Richard (Renee) Parker and Clayton, Jason, Tim, Angie and Tom Specht, all of Dubuque, and Stacey and David Steinberg, of Jacksonville; a niece and a nephew; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and two great-grandsons.

A Lorraine L. Parker Memorial Fund has been established by the family.
