David N. Kintzinger, 82, of 1076 Mount Loretta Ave., died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Stonehill Care Center.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday. His body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research. The Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kintzinger initially practiced law with his father until his father died around 1952. In November 1958, he joined Charles A. Kintzinger in the practice of law. The partnership was called Kintzinger and Kintzinger. He continued his practice being particularly active in trial work, until his retirement in 1988.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1920, in Clinton, Iowa, son of John J. and Agnes (Hessling) Kintzinger. He married Charlotte Faber in May 1947, at Nativity Catholic Church.

He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and Loras College. After graduating from Loras College in 1942, he entered the Army, serving as a First Sergeant in the 3876 Quartermaster Company in New Guinea. He then attended the University of Iowa Law School, graduating in 1948.

He was past president of the Dubuque County Bar Association and the Dubuque Kiwanis Club, and he was a member of the Sierra Club, American Canoe Club and Chicago Whitewater Association.

Surviving are his wife, Charlotte, of Dubuque; children, John Kintzinger, of Iowa City, Jean (Jim) Gantz, of Dubuque, Judy Kintzinger and Susan Kintzinger, both of Madison, Wis., and Tom (Sue) Kintzinger, of Hayward, Wis.; three grandchildren, Eric and Abby Gantz and Katie Kintzinger; and a sister, Marion Palomar, of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be given to St. Columbkille's Catholic Church.
