LA MOTTE, Iowa - Francis N. Kremer 82, of Bernard, formerly of La Motte, died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, La Motte, with the Rev. Xavier Dieter, OCSO, and the Rev. James Heiar, SVD, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Bellevue American Legion Post 273. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Kremer farmed in the La Motte and Bernard area all of his life.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1920, in La Motte, son of Frank and Mary (Bechen) Kremer.

He was a Navy World War II veteran and served on the USS Petrof Bay. He was a member of the Bellevue American Legion Post 273, the Holy Rosary, La Motte Knights of Columbus and Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Allan "Al" Kremer, of Bernard, and Eugene "Tex" (Joan) Kremer, of Key West; a sister, Georgene (Arthur) Krogman, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Thank-you to the doctors and nurses at Finley Hospital for the care and kindness they gave to Francis.
