DICKEYVILLE, Wis. - Ambrose A. Dietzel, 75, of 160 N. Main St., Dickeyville, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dickeyville, with the Rev. Francis Steffen and the Rev. Randy Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City.

He repaired clocks after retiring from the former Dubuque Packing Co.

He was born on March 24, 1926, in Dickeyville, son of Henry and Lena (Busch) Dietzel. He married Lucella "Sally" Langmeier on July 25, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Dubuque, Ill.

Ambrose was a member of the Catholic Knights.

Surviving are his wife, Sally, of Dickeyville; two daughters, Betty (Dennis) Vondrum, of Madison, and Donna (Steve) Knouse, of Davenport, Iowa; five sons, James (Janet) Dietzel, of Kieler, Eugene (Lois) Dietzel, of Dickeyville, Daniel Dietzel, of Madison, Dale Dietzel, of Naperville, Ill., and Gary (Sandy) Dietzel, of Maquoketa, Iowa; four sisters, Leona Digman, of Lancaster, Angeline Digman, of Platteville, and Marie Dietzel and Ann Dietzel, both of Dubuque; and 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Roland, on Feb. 25, 1994; a brother, Bernard Dietzel; two brothers-in-law, Lavern and Leonard Digman; and a sister-in-law, Marcie Dietzel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Parkinson's Foundation.
