Deceased Name: SELINA M. BRIMEYER
Mrs. Cornelius (Selina M.) Brimeyer, 90, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 2875 White St., died at 1:20 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at Stonehill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 3 p.m.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1909, in Balltown, Iowa, daughter of Alois and Philomena (Link) Klein.

She married Cornelius Brimeyer on Jan. 16, 1934, at St. Francis Church, Balltown. They farmed in the Sherrill, Iowa, area for many years, retiring in 1967. Mr. Brimeyer died June 18, 1989.

She was a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, Sherrill; a member of Holy Ghost Parish and its rosary society; and a member of the funeral choir at Holy Ghost Church, before moving to Alverno Apartments and then Stonehill Care Center. She was a charter member of the Alzheimer's Support Group at Stonehill. She also was a member of the Holy Ghost Senior Citizens.

She was an accomplished needleworker. She embroidered a set of seven towels for each of her grandchildren. She loved to play cards and sing. She took great pride in her family. She was very interested in what her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were doing and always encouraged them to get a higher education.

Surviving are four daughters, Rose M. (Vernon) Haberkorn, of Marion, Iowa, Alice M. (Conrad) Harker, of Hazel Green, Wis., Carol A. (Dennis) Oneyear, of Advance, N.C., and Eileen V. (Daryle) Lampe, of Hiawatha, Iowa; two sons, Lawrence A. (Dianne) Brimeyer, of Sherrill, and Delbert R. (Delight) Brimeyer, of Dubuque; 32 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arnold (Dorothy) Klein, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by six sisters, Leona Leick, Edwina Steger, Mildred Backes, Marcella Schmitt, Sylvia Schmitt and Marie Blaser; and four brothers, Alfred, Lawrence, Clarence and Gilbert Klein.

Memorials may be given to the Stonehill Alzheimer's Unit, 3485 Windsor Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
