Ronald L. Jones, 53, of 490 River Ridge, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Jones worked at IIW Engineers as a land surveyor for the past 17 years.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1949, in Dubuque, son of Robert and Mildred (Greene) Jones. He married Jeanne Kubesheski on March 9, 1973 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1967. He was an Army veteran, having served in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Ronald had many interests. He enjoyed garage sales, bingo, fishing, camping on the beach, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanne; sons, Ronald L. (Victoria) Jones Jr., David M. Jones (and special friend, Abby McAllister), and Daniel R. Jones, all of Dubuque; a daughter, Angela E. Jones (and special friend, Dean Hall), of Dubuque; a granddaughter, Kailey J. Hall; sisters, Judy Bischoff, of Bernard, Iowa, and Sandy (Jim) Thill and Barb (Joe) Fecker, both of Dubuque; brothers, Robert (Sue) Jones, of Dubuque, and Steve Jones, of Maquoketa, Iowa; and a special cousin, Gary (Jennie) Greene, of Galena, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Ronald L. Jones Memorial Fund has been established.
