Cleo M. Farquar, 85, of 251 Kaufmann Ave., died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade, Iowa.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Farquar was a homemaker and worked as a secretary to the vice president at the University of Dubuque. She also assisted her husband, Donald, in their business, the Millwork Outlet.

She was born on March 15, 1918, in Dubuque, daughter of George and Anna (Mathes) Miller. She married Donald Farquar on Feb. 1, 1939, in Dubuque.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and Bayless Business College.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the church circle.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Farquar, of Dubuque; two daughters, Barbara (Howard) Cassady, of Tampa, Fla., and Sandra (Robert) Stepanek, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a granddaughter, Laurie Stepanek, of Miami; two brothers, Bruce Miller and William (Nancy) Woodrich, both of Dubuque; and a sister, Marilyn (Edward) Knowles, of Barrington, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church and Christian Crusaders, P.O. Box 522, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613.

The family would like to thank the staff at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade for all their loving care.
