Elizabeth M. Ressler, 24, of Elk Grove Village, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Bativa, Ill.,

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dwayne Thoman, Rev. Mark Ressler, Rev. Wayne Ressler and Rev. Daniel Knepper officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1979, in Dubuque, daughter of Stephen J. and Diane M. (Renk) Ressler Jr.

Elizabeth graduated from Wahlert High School in 1997 and received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. She was employed in sales with Cort Furniture, a Berkshire Hathaway Company.

Elizabeth was taken too soon. She loved her family and friends with a deep and fierce loyalty. Her infectious smile lit up a room and her vitality made everyone feel special. She dreamed of building a career in "the city" and set about doing that in Chicago. She loved children, especially babies, and hoped someday to create a loving family of her own.

Surviving are her parents, Steve and Diane Ressler, of Dubuque; three brothers, Nicholas, Mark and Benjamin; as well as her grandfather, Steve Ressler, Sr.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Annie (Kolfenbach) Renk; and her paternal grandmother, Dorothy (Eisbach) Ressler.

An Elizabeth M. Ressler Memorial Fund has been established.
