Lavon "Bonnie" Stumpf, 77, of 2110 Pasadena Drive, No. 2, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Stumpf worked as a registered nurse at Mercy, Lady of Lourdes Nursing Home and Dubuque Health Care Center, where she was director of nursing until her retirement.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1925, in Dubuque, daughter of Carl and Susan (Bechen) Hanson. She married Ralph A. Stumpf on April 9, 1947, at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

She graduated from the former St. Columbkille's High School in 1943 and the former Mercy School of Nursing in 1946.

Surviving are her husband, Ralph; five sons, Daniel (Mary) Stumpf, Donald (Kathy) Stumpf, Ron (Janet) Stumpf, Tim Stumpf and Luke (Deborah) Stumpf, all of Dubuque; a daughter, Kim Stumpf, of East Dubuque, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geri Hayes, of Dubuque, and Mary Sue (John) Buesser, of Bernard, Iowa; and a brother, Eugene (Joan) Hanson, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven, on Jan. 7, 1993; and three brothers, Bud, Carl "Pete" and Don Hanson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Society.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dahl for the care and kindness he showed to Bonnie.
