Lloyd Felix Wagner, 84, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in Mitchellville, Md.

Services were held at St. Michael's Church, Silver Springs.

Mr. Wagner was director of libraries at Catholic University from 1967 to 1975, and at Hood College in Frederick from 1976 to 1986.

He was born in Dubuque. He graduated from Lafayette College, Pennsylvania, and received his master's degree in library science from Catholic University.

He served with the Army in Europe during World War II and participated in the D-Day invasion. His decorations included the Bronze Star.

He did library work for Bell Laboratories in Whippany, N.J., before moving to the Washington area in the mid-1960s, where he was chief of the Federal Aviation Administration's library services division.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Martina App Wagner, of Silver Spring; six children, Ellen Armstrong, of Toronto, Karen Salah, of Bethesda, Jean Wagner, of Crofton, Barbara Wagner, of Los Angeles, Christine Wagner, of Annapolis and Richard Wagner, of Germantown; a brother, Joseph (Kay) Wagner, of Dubuque; and 10 grandchildren.
