Evelyn "Lum" Mulvenna, 63, of Heritage Manor, Dubuque, formerly of 3028 Parkwild Drive, Bettendorf, Iowa, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Heritage Manor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque. Burial will be in the Rock Island (Ill.) National Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave. Dubuque, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

She was born on June 5, 1939, in Dubuque, daughter of Clarence and Florence (Houselog) Feipel. She graduated from the former St. Joseph Academy in Dubuque in 1957.

Lum married Lt. Col. John W. Mulvenna on Sept. 20, 1958, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque; he passed away on Jan. 10, 2003. Her husband was in the Army for 21 years, and they lived in several parts of the country and in Germany. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband at Dix-Lum's Carpeting in Leavenworth, Kan.

She enjoyed sewing, oil painting and traveling with her husband of 44 years.

Surviving are two sisters, LuAnn Casel (fianc, Larry Boyer) and Mary (David) Winders; a brother, Larry (Mary Lou) Feipel; a sister-in-law, Ileen Feipel; and an aunt, Lillian (Houselog) Oneyear, all of Dubuque; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Tom Feipel.
