Randy L. Howell, 46, of 1525 Fairfax Ave., died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League and the American Legion, Dubuque Post 6.

Mr. Howell worked for O'Meara Custom Products for many years.

He was born on March 3, 1957, son of Thomas and Marilyn (Priebe) Howell. He married Connie Zinn at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

He attended Dubuque Senior High School and Northeast Iowa Community College, Peosta.

He was a Marine Corps veteran and served in the Philippines. He was a member of the Dubuque Business Men's Association.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing and fishing and loved a good game of cards. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, especially when they were playing the Bears.

He was a kind, caring person who touched the hearts of everyone he knew.

Surviving are his wife, Connie; a daughter Jamie, (Dave) Bahl, of Dubuque; his mother, Marilyn (Tom) Butler, of Dubuque; two sisters, Wendy (John) Priest and Connie (Denny) Goedert, both of Dubuque; a sister and brother-in-law, Joe and Sandy Huseman; a sister-in-law, Debbie Zinn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Howell, on Nov. 7, 1986; an infant sister; his father and mother-in-law, Louie and Lorraine Zinn; a brother-in-law, Davie Zinn; and a sister-in-law, Linda Walker.

Thank-you to Medical Associates Oncology Department and the nursing staff at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque for the care and kindness they gave to Randy and his family.
