Sister K. Therese (Mary John Stephen) Hart, BVM, 73, of Marian Hall, 1050 Carmel Drive, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday May 25, 2003, at Marian Hall.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marian Hall Chapel, with burial in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Marian Hall, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.

Sister K. Therese taught at St. Anthony's School in Dubuque, and also in elementary and secondary schools in Chicago, Waterloo, Iowa, Rock Island, Ill., and Clinton, Iowa. She also served on the BVM Trust Committee and the Carmel High School Corporate Board.

She was born on Dec. 30, 1929, in Davenport, Iowa, daughter of Stephen A. and Kathryn A. (Kelley) Hart.

She made her first profession of religious vows on March 19, 1954, and her final profession of vows on July 16, 1959.

Surviving are a brother, John (Madonna) Hart, of Wheatland, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 51 years.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Retirement Fund.
