Margaret L. Bradley, 85, of 2160 Woodlawn Drive, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1917, in Dubuque, daughter of Frank and Ida (Hines) Kissell. She married Wilfred Bradley on June 2, 1943, at Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church; he died on Dec. 14, 1988.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1935 and attended Bayless Business College.

In her youth, she helped her father in the Kissell Grocery Store on University Avenue. She was a secretary at Farley and Loetcher Mfg., Finley Hospital School of Nursing and Hillcrest Family Services. She also was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm.

She was a longtime active member of Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church, Sew n' Sew quilters, bell choir, choir and United Methodist Women. She was a past member of Oxus Cauldren (Masonic Order).

Margaret enjoyed reading, watching songbirds, quilting, traveling and being with friends and family. She also participated in RSVP, Lifetime Center, and the Finley Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are three children, Betty Louise Bradley, of Dubuque, Janice Kay (Don) Carr, of Bellevue, Iowa, and Alan Wayne Bradley, of Waterloo, Iowa; a grandson, John William (Rachel) Bradley, of Ottumwa, Iowa; two brothers, Melvin D. Kissell, of Moberly, Mo., and Donald W. Kissell, of Fountain, Colo.; a sister, Helen M. Marshall, of Aurora, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Dale W.; an infant sister, Marie; a brother, Harold; a sister-in-law, Lineota Kissell; and a daughter-in-law, Catherine Bradley.

In lieu of flowers, a Margaret Bradley Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Dr. Viner and his nurse, Ann, for their loving care.
