Tess Kalhorn, 65, of 1084 Shady Oaks Drive, died at home Monday, May 19, 2003, of pancreatic cancer.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Blades Hall Chapel at the University of Dubuque Campus, where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Tess lived her life with intensity and passion. Extremely fit and active, she loved playing tennis, bike-riding on Heritage Trail and hiking in the Mines of Spain. Music was an important part of her life, and she shared this love with everyone she knew.

Surviving are her husband, George; three daughters, Renita Kalhorn, of New York, Ann Kalhorn, of Phoenix and Carolyn Peyrin, of Paris, France; a son, James Kalhorn, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a grandson, Ferdinand Peyrin, of Paris; three sisters, Cathy Berube, of Saratoga, Fla., Jennifer Pfaff, of Los Angeles, and Sophie Pak, of Beverly Hills, Calif.; and a brother, Andrew Park, of Boston.

Memorials may be given to Mines of Spain Recreation Area, 8991 Bellevue Heights, Dubuque, Iowa 52003.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Kirk Payne and the staff members at Medical Associates and Hospice of Dubuque.
