Tom Ellis, 70, of Lakewood, Ohio, formerly of California and Dubuque, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2003.

Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. The Cremation Society of Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where he played football for the Hawkeyes and played in the Rose Bowl. He also played professionally for the Baltimore Colts football team.

He lived most of his life in California and Dubuque prior to moving to Lakewood to be with his daughter.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Kemmett; a nephew, Ric Ellis; a niece, Debby Meints; and grandchildren Nicole and Kiersten Kemmett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Richard Ellis; and a brother, Richard Ellis.
