Celeste M. Sturm, 91, of 1695 Mount Pleasant St., formerly of Springbrook, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, May 13, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, Iowa, and after 9:30 a.m. at the church.
She had been a cook at Mount Pleasant Home from 1963 -1988.
She was born on May 22, 1911, in Springbrook, daughter of Joseph and Antoinette (Clasen) Sturm.
She was a devoted Catholic, belonging to St. Mary's Catholic Church, its Ladies Sodality and the Legion of Mary for more than 55 years. She was a beautiful aunt to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are a sister, Velma (Roman) Droessler, of Kieler, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Mary Sturm and Gloria "Dottie" Sturm, both of Bellevue; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister, Roman, Arnold, Vincent, Alphonse and Marcella Scheckel.
