Robert R. Fox

Robert R. Fox, 77, of 2219 Garfield Ave., died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at The Finley Hospital.

Chapel services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Fox worked at Northend Auto Wrecking Company for more than 33 years until his retirement.

He was born on May 16, 1921, in Leroy, Minn., son of Robert R. and R. Cleo (Wilson) Fox. He married Evelyn Topp on May 13, 1941, in Fairbank, Iowa; she died Oct. 24, 1997.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and working on cars.

Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie M. (Joe) Murphy, of Port Bolivar, Texas, and Terry L. (Robert) Oyen, of Potosi, Wis.; four sons, Richard L. Fox, of Milwaukee, Robert W. "Bill" (Angela) Fox, of Davenport, Iowa, Michael F. (Peggy) Fox, of Dubuque, and James J. "Joe" Fox, of Germantown, Wis.; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Lou (Melvin) Beaderstadt, of Oelwein, Iowa, Dorothy (Bob) Gray, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Alice (Rev. Clair) O'Dell, of Maquoketa, Iowa; and a brother, Wayne (Agnes) Fox, of Waterloo, Iowa.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Fox in infancy; a grandson, Richard Fox, Jr.; two sisters Mrs. Glen (Lorraine) Bradley, and Mrs. Rex (Shirley) Weatherman; and two brothers, Edward Fox and Richard Fox.
