Earl J. Maury

Services for Earl J. Maury, 75, of 2341 Carter Road will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion of Dubuque. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St., where the wake service will be said at 2 p.m.

Mr. Maury was a salesman for the former American Tobacco Co. and was a salesman for Meyers Cox. He owned and operated Maurys Standard Service Station for many years. He was a guard at the American Trust and Savings Bank.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1915, in Dubuque, son of Earl and Rose (Wall) Maury. He died at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 1991, at home.

He married Marie Hinderman; she died in 1984. He married Pat Latimer in 1984 in Dubuque; she survives.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans for 45 years. He was an usher at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Also surviving are three sons, Richard of Encino, Calif., Michael of Grinnell, Iowa, and William of Denver; four daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Rose) Johnson of Columbia, Md., Linda Maury of Dubuque, Mrs. Gene (Donna) Jungwirth of Rock Island, IL., and Kathy Maury of Alfred, N. Y.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Delores Maury of Seal Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Gillilan of Long Beach, Calif.
