John F. McInerney, 41, of 1800 Manson Road, No. 41, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ardel Barta officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. McInerney worked at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center and lastly at Mercy Housing Services.

He was born on July 19, 1961, in Dubuque, son of James F. and Marilyn (Schmerbach) McInerney.

He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1979. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Surviving are his parents, Jim and Marilyn McInerney, of Dubuque; a brother, Dennis (Cindy) McInerney, and two sisters, Sue (Jeff) Ranson and Sharon (Jim) Koch, all of Dubuque; his former wife, Trina McInerney, and his son, Tanner McInerney, of Dubuque; his fiancee, Jill Frommelt, of Dubuque, and stepdauhter, Amanda Hillard, of Dubuque; his maternal grandmother, Gertrude Schmerbach; and nine nieces and nephews.

A John E. McInerney Memorial Fund has been established.
