Thomas J. Sutter Sr., 87, of Bethany Home, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Bethany Home, after a lengthy illness.

Private family services will be held in Mueller Memorial Chapel at Linwood Cemetery. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1915, in Dubuque, son of John and Anna Sutter.

He was a World War II veteran, a past member of the Oxus Grotto and a lifetime member of the Masonic Temple.

Thomas and his wife, Lucille, were previous owners of Sutter's Bakery on 13th and Central Streets.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille; a brother, Robert; and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Bethany Home and their staff for the excellent care and comfort provided for Thomas, it was greatly appreciated.
