PEOSTA, Iowa - Marguerite G. Kennedy, 91, of 17764 Monastery Road, Peosta, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque.

Services will be at noon Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Melleray, rural Peosta, with the Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating, and the Rev. John Herzog and the Rev. Xavier Dieter concelebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Kennedy taught school for many years at Christman School in Dubuque County.

She was born on June 25, 1911, in Dubuque County, daughter of Issac and Ida (Herzog) Williams. On June 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Martin C. Kennedy at St. Joseph's Prairie Church; he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1985.

She received her education in the Nolan schoolhouse and graduated from the former Visitation Academy in Dubuque.

She served on the Dubuque County Library Board. Marguerite was a member of Holy Family Parish, New Melleray, rural Peosta.

Surviving are three daughters, Maureen Kennedy, of Peosta, Ann (Dave) Ludovissy, of Dubuque, and Kathy (John) Flannery, of St. Charles, Ill.; her grandchildren, Dawn, Jon and Jeff Ludovissy and Dan and Kevin Flannery; and a brother, Joseph Williams, of Peosta.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, and to the Dubuque County Library.

The family of Marguerite would like to thank the staff at Stonehill Care Center for all the wonderful care given to Marguerite.
