James E. Wagner, 69, of the Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at the Iowa Veteran's Home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., Dubuque, where there will be a rosary at 6 p.m.

Mr. Wagner worked as a baker at Donut-Boy in Dubuque.

He was born on March 24, 1934, in Dubuque, son of Floyd M. Sr. and Esther Marie (Koppes) Wagner. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1955.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the Air Force.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Parish, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque and the Disabled Veterans.

Surviving are three brothers, Cal (Marge) Wagner, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Paul (Teresa) Wagner and Gerald Wagner, both of Dubuque; three sisters, Dorothy Traz, of Texas City, Texas, Rosemary Hudson, of Coopersville, Mich., and Madonna O'Brien, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd Jr. and Donald Wagner; and a sister, Betty Jane Siegwarth.

A James E. Wagner Memorial Fund has been established.
