Winifred C. "Winnie" Petesch, 88, of Dubuque, formerly of Bellevue, Iowa, died Wednesday evening, March 26, 2003, at Ennoble Manor Care Center, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Mrs. Petesch had worked at the Borg Electric Co. in Chicago, the Savanna (Ill.) Army Depot and Gibson Mfg. Co. in Bellevue.

She was born on Dec. 29, 1914, in Dubuque, daughter of Hugh and Sarah (Carew) Coffey. She was the youngest of seven children.

She married Leo J. Petesch on Aug. 10, 1940, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque; he died on Sept. 10, 1957, at the Savanna (Ill.) Ordinance Depot.

She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and received her nurses training at Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque.

She was a wonderful mother as Sally always came first in her life and will miss that special love between a mother and daughter.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, watching the Chicago Cubs and shopping.

Surviving are a daughter, Sarann "Sally" (Larry) Hasken, of Sabula, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michael, Michelle and James Hasken; and six great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
