Henry James Opsahl, 97, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Mesa.
The Mountain View Mortuary, Mesa, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Opsahl worked for Utilities Power and Light in Chicago and Tulsa, Okla. He then worked for Interstate Power Co. in Dubuque from 1939 to 1971, when he retired as the vice president and controller.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1905, in Day County, S.D., son of Anton and Carrie (Cornelius) Opsahl. He married Virginia A. Trotter in October 1931; she died in 1973. He then married Eileen (Miehe) Duccini in 1974.
He was a graduate of the Roslyn (S.D.) High School, the University of South Dakota and the University of Michigan.
He was a former member of St. Luke's Methodist Church and St. Matthew Lutheran Church, both in Dubuque.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen; a nephew, Warren (Marcy) Opsahl, of Jamestown, N.D.; and nieces, Karen (Gene) Gaganon, of Plymouth, Minn., Linda (Jerry) Wilkes, of Minnetonka, Minn., Susan (Don) Burt, of Richfield, Minn., Evelyn Sells, of Shelton, Wash., and Marlys Wertman, of Enderlin, N.D.
He also was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
