Robert P. Edminster, 66, of 2025 Embassy West Drive, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Cathedral. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 6:45 p.m.

Mr. Edminster worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. for more than 40 years, retiring in June 2000.

He was born on July 10, 1936, in Dubuque, son of Roy and Marcella (Frye) Edminster. He married Patricia Wortley on April 7, 1956, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque.

He was a graduate of the former Loras Academy.

He was very involved with the AFL-CIO United Food and Commercial Workers Local 431, especially with the worker transition center. He also was very active in the Colt 45 Drum and Bugle Corps. for many years. He was a former director of the Colt Cadets where he served as president of it's booster club. He traveled nationwide to judge drum corps competitions.

Bob was a very loving, kind and caring person who cherished the time spent with his family. He enjoyed reading.

Surviving are his wife, Pat, of Dubuque; three children, Dennis R. (Dana), of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Robert J., of Dubuque, and Tina M. Weber, of Hazel Green, Wis.; three grandchildren, Whitney, Robbie and Matthew; a brother, Rodney J. (Diane) Edminster, of Dubuque; two sisters, Leta Beadle, of Dubuque, and Della Koster, of Rock Island, Ill.; and a son-in-law, Paul Weber, of Kieler, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Robert P. Edminster Memorial Fund has been established.

Bob's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mercy Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit and 3 north, especially Drs. Patrick, Janes and Thomas Sinsky, and all his relatives and friends for their wonderful support and care over the past two weeks
