Barbara Ann "Barb" (Mootz) Daugherty, 58, of Ingram, Texas, formerly of Dubuque, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 7, 2003, at home.

Private family services will be at Wright's Funeral Parlor, Kerrville, Texas. Burial will be at a later date.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1944, in Dubuque, daughter of Ray and Stella Mootz. She married William Daugherty on Dec. 29, 1967, in Iowa.

She served in the Navy during the Vietnam era. "Just another sailor gone to be with God."

Barb had a long and hard fight with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

She was a beloved wife and mother who will be greatly missed. She will be loved and missed by many family members and friends.

Surviving are her loving husband of 35 years, William Daugherty, of Ingram; a daughter, Tara, and her husband, Von Elmegreen, of Haysville, Kan.; two sons, Sean Daugherty, of Dubuque, and Ian Daugherty, of Ingram; two granddaughters, Kellie Elmegreen, of Kansas, and Alexis Daugherty, of New Jersey; and her beloved dog, Spike.

Mrs. William (Barbara A. "Barb") Daugherty, 58, of Ingram, Texas, formerly of 1433 Main St., died Friday, March 7, 2003, at home, after a long, hard fight with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Chapel services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League and the Tri-State Vietnam Veterans.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1944, in Dubuque, daughter of Ray and Stella (Pratt) Mootz. She married William L. Daugherty on Dec. 29, 1967, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque.

She was a graduate of Wahlert High School, Dubuque, class of 1962. She served with the Navy during the Vietnam era.

She was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker and part-time antique dealer. Barb will be missed by her faithful dog, Spike.

Surviving are her husband, William L. Daugherty, of Ingram; a daughter, Tara (Von) Elmegreen, of Haysville, Kan.; two sons, Sean Daugherty, of Dubuque, and Ian Daugherty, of Ingram; and two granddaughters, Kellie Elmegreen and Alexis Daugherty.
