Marilyn J. Wilson, 71, of 3315 Kaufmann Ave., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, where friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. until 1984.

She was born on Feb. 15, 1932, in Dubuque, daughter of Leo and Frances (Oneyear) Miller. She married John B. Dierks on Nov. 7, 1953; he passed away on Sept. 22, 1994. She married Evan L. Wilson on Nov. 14, 1970.

She was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Republican Party of Iowa, the Paralyzed Veterans of America, National World War II Memorial charter member and a Republican National Committee sustaining member.

Surviving are a son, Doug Dierks, of Dubuque; a daughter, Dawn Shawcross, of Shullsburg, Wis.; three grandchildren, Devin, Kevin and Megan Shawcross, all of Shullsburg; and a sister, Kay Haley, of Fulton, Ill.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ivan Miller; a sister, Lois Doyle; and a daughter, Janice Linn Dierks.

A Marilyn J. Wilson Memorial Fund has been established.
