Mildred M. Schlickman

Mrs. Roy (Mildred M.) Schlickman, of 450 Esther St., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at ManorCare Health Services.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a wake service at 6:30 p.m.

She was born on April 21, 1922, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Mary (Welter) Digman. She married Roy J. Schlickman on March 2, 1946.

Millie was employed at Merchants Supply Co.

She was a member of St. Columbkille parish and their women's organizations.

Millie was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time on the river and crocheting. She also enjoyed playing cards with her card club members of 30-plus years.

Surviving are her husband, Roy; two sons, Doug (Kathy) Schlickman, of Dubuque, and Greg (Deb) Schlickman, of DeForest, Wis.; three daughters, Diane (Mike) Stone, of East Dubuque, Ill., Kathy (Nick) Nicks, of La Crosse, Wis., and Barbara Trifone, of Dubuque; grandchildren, Jennifer Neagle, Scott, Joseph and Doug Schlickman Jr., Pamela Newberry, Audra Heim, Eric Stone, Amy Cleveland, Jared, Aaron, Nicole and Elissa Nicks, Shing and Jo Yang-Nicks, Christie, Andrew, Katie, Laurie and Carrie Trifone, and Alli Schlickman; 26 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Digman, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Adeline Haberkorn and Leona Mayne; and a brother, Mel Digman.
