Elinor L. Workman, 87, of Bethany Home, formerly of 857 Stone Ridge Place, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

She was born on June 15, 1915, in Dubuque, daughter of Louis A. and Bertha F. (Kaune) Eichmann. She married Harold B. Workman at Immanuel Congregational Church in 1941; he died on Dec. 23, 1983.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1933. She was a travel agent with Dubuque Travel Inc. from 1944 until her retirement in 1983. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ.

She was a current or past member of many organizations including Dubuque Business and Professional Women, Finley Hospital Auxiliary, Immanuel Women's Auxiliary, Dubuque County Historical Society, Barn Theater Group, American Society of Travel Agents, and the Dubuque Civic Orchestra. She also enjoyed traveling and visited many countries throughout the years.

Surviving are two sons, Stanley (Billie Jean) Workman, of San Antonio, and Richard (Sylvia) Workman, of Houston; four grandchildren, Walter (Sharon) Workman and Franklin Workman, both of San Antonio, and Pamela (Bob) Lanham and Melanie (Mike) Martin, both of Houston; four great-grandchildren, Mindy, Jennifer, Tiffany and Ryan; many cousins; a special friend, Joan Frye, of Dubuque, whose support and kindness has been appreciated.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ.
