Ann McFadden Gardner, 71, formerly of Dubuque, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital, in San Francisco, Calif.

Memorial services were held Feb. 15, at Green Funeral Home, San Francisco.

She was born in Dubuque, daughter of Robert and Catherine McFadden.

Surviving are three sons, William Gardner, of Lake Forest, Ill., Peter Gardner, of Apex, N.C., and Scott Berglund, of New Orleans; a daughter, Catherine Gardner Erwin, of New Orleans; five grandchildren; and a brother, Ed McFadden, of Geneva, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Susan; and brother, Faber.
